Temple Micah in Lawrenceville welcomed Rabbi Roni Handler as their new rabbi on July 1st.
Handler, who also works as the director of community learning and learning at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Wyncote, Pa., and is an executive editor at ritualwell.org, will lead the congregation as well as the synagogue's religious school.
Rabbi Handler, a Philadelphia native, replaces Rabbi Vicki Tuckman, who passed away earlier this year.
Temple Micah is an independent, egalitarian congregation in Lawrenceville, serving the Jewish community of Central New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania since 1969.
Temple Micah’s mission, as described on their website is “to provide a warm and comfortable atmosphere where all individuals and their families and friends are welcome and can realize their own connection to Judaism, without financial burden.”
Services are held at the Presbyterian Church at 2688 Main Street.
